The next act on the bill was A group called Gift Shoppe. With all of the local groups that one must endure before main act of a concert, it was refreshing to finally hear one that was good. Gift Shoppe is a highly polished, highly efficient band that should enjoy great success in the future.
Gift Shoppe has the usual guitars and drums, plus one trumpet, one sax, and three singers. Their present material is copied from Chicago, Santana and Three Dog Night, although they are working on some original material now that will be ready for unveiling this summer. Their set includes “Evil Ways”, “Celebrate,” and “You’ve Made Me So Very Happy.”
